Hope HG gets well soon.

Oh you poor thing. Get well soon, HG.
Oh HG you poor thing! You get yourself properly better.
Get well soon - best wishes.
It's goose fat sewn into a canvas vest for you young lady!
Hope you feel better soon - Brown's spouting again, and we need you up and about!
You don't need to talk to write a blog you know... or you could turn it into one of those illness blogs where you tell us all the gory medical details..
Look after yourself HG. I hope someone is plumping your pillows.

Thank you all; when you hear the advice was 'mmm. a viral infection' you'll all feel that hopeless misery that precedes 4 days of not caring if antibiotics don't affect viruses, just hand them over. In the end they always do, muttering 'secondary infections' and then it clears up but they say 'it was going to do that anyway'.
As for Mutley's tough approach - you do need to think to write a blog, as you know M better than most, all I could think about was breathing and it wouldn't be interesting to write about that despite your kind suggestion.
Scroblene's vest used to be used quite widely it seems; sewn in after the bath on saturday, released the following weekend only to be sewn into a fresh one at once, they didn't use canvas but scratchy wool which smoothed into shape and acceptibility as the week passed. Went on all winter. Thank goodness mr hg couldn't find them, though they'll be here somewhere, everything always is.
No Italian is ever seen without a vest, except for the beach and the bedroom. They are the anchor of their being, of all and every material, for every season, in every shape, sleeviness, and length.
And they are right! I am wearing a fine-ribbed filo di scozia with pure silk lining, cap sleeves, medium length, early autumnal vest; I feel much better.
