Halls Decked

'Poets are the trumpets which sing to battle..
Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world'.

Christmas time is here, by golly,
Disapproval would be folly.
Deck the halls with hunks of holly,
Fill the cup and don't say when.

Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens,
Mix the punch, drag out the Dickens.
Even though the prospect sickens,
Brother, here we go again.

And -

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
thine own from Satan’s tyranny;
from depths of hell Thy people save,
and give them victory o’er the grave.
Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel.

Have a merry Christmas, everybody, and thank you for the posts on your blogs and your comments here. The bloggers give a new meaning to the toast 'Absent Friends!'

God bless us, every one , HG.Sadly I have just watched "A Christmas Carol" and tried to work out of it was in any way Socialist. Its about Charity I think and threfore not, ...after all if the state takes your money and gives it away from you then whats the point of loving your fellow men even for one day

....Eeeek a spirit has just arrived to show me myself boring people to death at Christmas Pasts.......
