It's Rabies Now

An outbreak of rabies is feared after a rabid dog bit three people. The United Kingdom doesn't do rabies, at least it didn't before Jonah.

The last UK rabies fatality was in 2001. There was concern about potential infiltration by foaming-at-the-mouth red foxes, but nobody spotted Tony at that time!

Is it not true then, S, that rabies is not British? When I brought the cats I had to have fully up-to-date certificates on their rabies status for France, Switzerland and Italy. I remember being surprised as they were travelling from England, and assumed it was because we were passing through other countries to our destination. Now I wonder again.
Over fierce laws lead to law-breaking, and the quarantine regulations must have led to a lot of dodging by incoming animals.
