One thing is clear: all those people, economists particularly, who tell us we are in a situation like the 1930s and need to act as if we are and borrow lots of money etc., are talking out of the back of their necks.
Now we can look at the 1930s and see how far away, how utterly alien, how long ago, how irrelevant it all is today. Interesting, sometimes beautiful, but nothing to do with us.
