Forward not Back

Mrs Clinton can only be described as Back (well, yes - but taking the expletives as givens). Democratic voters need a candidate that belongs in this century, not the discredited remnants of a failed politique that is ending in global economic and financial crisis.

She is the dead hand of state authoritarianism and 'planned' intervention to 'correct inequalities delivered by the market'.

More interestingly, how did the Republicans, who by any measure could have been expected to lose the next US presidential election after 8 years of George W., manoeuvre the Democrats into a nomination race between two Democratic candidates representative of essentially unsuccessful groups within American society? Indeed within any society; it may not be fashionable to recognise it, but white males win prizes, they are organized and culturally predisposed to do so.

That Hillary is there to permit the Clinton years to carry on from where they were forced to leave off makes her more deeply unattractive than any other candidate. But it may be that Obama cannot be expected to defeat a trinity of what she stands for, what Republicans want, and deep-seated cultural reserve within American society.
