Paedophilic Murderer's Image Will Often Offend

The tourist board Visit London said in a statement: “This is a general three minute video of London in which an artwork by Marcus Harvey very fleetingly appears.

“The video is not for general public use and has been used many times over the last few years to show to the tourism trade.

“There has never been a complaint made about the video up until this point. However, if any offence has been caused, we will withdraw it from use with immediate effect.”

There are some very sick people working at Visit London, who should be dismissed.

Quite. Any suggestions for more totally inappropriate representations of British values? Harold Shipman, Fred West etc?

That such things exist we know, as we know of other failures of humanity. But to this acceptance world cultural view such failure and degredation, exalted into an art form which itself extends the corruption into other spheres, communicates an equality to all acts that validates any activity or undertaking.

How can this be turned back?

I am really not so sure ,I think I can seperate the cultural icon and the facts and art commonly expreses conflict , otherwise it would be a a bit boring.

How does the representation of evil communicate an equality of acts ? As I understand it the image is formed of child`s hands and asks you to make sense of the existence of evil.

Profound ?

The person who did it is probably under 25 and thus has no knowledge of anything prior to 1990.
As to how it can be turned back, I think we have passed the point of no return. Over the past 30 years or so our 'leaders' academics, and media people have propagated the view that nothing is superior to anything else, thus the Dandy is equal to Shakespeare, Muslim culture is just different to Western Christianity. If all things are of equal value, then no standards can prevail. To say otherwise is to be 'judgemental' and thus to be consigned to the outer fringes of society.

What was celebrated about Britain at the Olympics handover ceremony ?

The athletes ? Nope.

- Slothful London Transport
- Grafitti artists
- litterers (street dancers)
- Instant celebrity (X Factor singer)
- Sex drugs 'n' Rock 'n' Roll (Jimmy Page)
- Sick art (The Hindley painting as you say)
- Scruffiness (Boris)

And worst of all ...

Premiership football - this took center stage with David Beckham as its icon.

WHY ?

Couldn't the spoilt princelings of football stand to be left out of something for just one minute - especially as their sport is the antithesis of everything our Olympians stand for ?

But back to the painting - they don't listen when we say that certain taboos should stay in place and it's great to see it come back and bite them on the bum after they've ignored us.
