It's too much to hope that he could retire to contemplate what he might do to extinguish his shameful years in undeserved office, consummated by breaking a three hundred year old regard and respect for the Commons Speaker. And no one is going to argue with those who say he was ejected because he is a working class, roman Catholic Scot. If Martin's behaviour was exemplary we must hope we never see any more of them in office again.

If anything demonstrated how much the Political Class "don't get it" it was this insult to the rest of us. This is a sad day for democracy.
