Martin's Entitlement

Such a corrupt and venal failure as Michael Martin is to be made a permanent, unelected Member of  the United Kingdom legislature.  Any honour now proferred by the Head of State, other than those few in her personal gift, is tainted by this man's acceptance of what he no doubt regards as his entitlement.

It's too much to hope that he could retire to contemplate what he might do to extinguish his shameful years in undeserved office, consummated by breaking a three hundred year old regard and respect for the Commons Speaker.  And no one is going to argue with those who say he was ejected because he is a working class, roman Catholic Scot.  If Martin's behaviour was exemplary we must hope we never see any more of them in office again.

If anything demonstrated how much the Political Class "don't get it" it was this insult to the rest of us. This is a sad day for democracy.
