Abnormality

It is not normal to have a society surveilled and registered and hectored like ours.

It is not normal to have a society in devastating indebtedness for assets rapidly declining in value.

It is not normal to have 6 million people of working age on various kinds of benefit.

It is not normal for hospital patients to die of dirt.

It is not normal for 40% of primary school leavers to be unable to read and write or perform simple calculation.

It is not normal for more than a million people to arrive yet make no provision for their reception.

It is not normal for financial monitoring and good practice to be wilfully incompetent or wholly ignored.

It is not normal to attack other countries and kill thousands of their citizens.

It is not normal for policemen to shoot people or for children to kill one another.

It is not normal to drug the old, abort the unborn 5-6 months from conception, to create cross-species half human embryos.

It is not normal to tax the poor and enable the rich.

It is not normal to do what is wrong and not what is right.

How important to be so clear on these matters

It could be a much longer litany, ND. You could add some. Is it normal to put our energy supplies at risk by selling generating capacity and development potential to foreign companies? (to mention just one area of expertise).

Good one, HG.

Well, given that Gordon Brown is so clearly not normal, none of this is a surprise, however shocking.

My ex, who had the pleasure of working in the DWP for many years, said some 6 or 7 years ago that Brown would be an utter disaster as PM. How right she was.

He was an utter disaster as chancellor of the Exchequer Elby. He's bad news always.

He is not alone in what he stands for though, just peculiarly and personally disgusting. Every self-seeking, fawning, Labour member of Parliament voted for what he and his party have done in the last 11 years. Now they protest, but where were they as he impoverished us all and wasted every year in which manufacturing and industry were not encouraged? As the Labour party and its policies were imposed to damage us all? Imposing them, that's where. Brown couldn't have done it alone. They are all responsible and should they be made to face their constituencies ever again, they must all answer. Not the leadership, all of them.
