Die Lösung
Nach dem Aufstand des 17. Juni
After the uprising in every election held since he usurped power Brown is
Stating that the people
Have forfeited the confidence of the government
And can win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?
[apologies to Brecht for taking liberties with the translation; taking liberties is what is needed in England].

This *has* been their attitude to us, the lumpen, especially since the rise of The Dear Leader. I have quoted the poem (only in translation) on CiF as a response to four or five preposterous articles.
This attitude, and that of the Guardian articles, is, conveyed one way, "You don't know how lucky you are to have us", the other, dear Mr. Balls's more succinct "So what?".
Rotten. What scurrying about behind the scenes.
They're on the spot, Elby. Are they going to hand over power in the normal democratic way, via a general election, or are they going to take the irreversible step of trying to change the rules?
Who knows, HG? I have at times thought the worst, but it may be that the party just collapses and crumbles into dust. The overall impression is that they are running around like headless chickens, responding to whatever leadership rumour the MSM come up with next. They do, I believe, know that they are stuffed and beyond redemption.
Peter Riddell suggests Straw!
Rachel Sylvester, Miliblob (D) (Has "cojones", apparently. Hmmm). Same Miliblob who shocked audience at Question Time last week, by not knowing that Mugabe is - or was - Sir Robert Mugabe. Fine Foreign Secretary eh?
The real concern is how much damage they will do before they go; I suspect a major scorched earth policy. leaving the Tories with an unbelievable mess to clear up.
