Federer v Nadal

Quarter to three: cherries from Grignano, delicately dipped in black chocolate, (thank you Lilith), a jug of water with ice, pastis, heavy glass. Champagne being brought up to the fridge as I write.

Update: Nadal wins so I get to drink champagne. So I would had Federer won, of course.

Grignano - not the one neare Trieste by any chance?

Hello TT, the Grignano for cherries round here is near Arezzo, so the Florence -Siena-Arezzo triangle is dangerous driving right now, between pits flying from windows and choosing the ripest so not looking at the road.

Oh, another Tuscanian, where are you near then? I'm 5 miles SE of Montecatini Terme (A11 mway exit), 20 miles W of Florence

You have put great photos on you blog so I know more or less your nearest town.

I'm in the middle of Florence, (with all the graffiti, grrrr).

Hatfield's house, in the countryside, isn't finished yet; though I was reproved on Dale for installing solar panels that make electricity and selling the extra to the ENEL. Evidently doing this leads to unreliable reliance on such sources when there should be nuclear power stations.

The olives are in good shaped though. No wine, I wanted to make sherry but was unable to explain why it isn't vinsanto, so I gave up.

HG you are in my favorite spot in the world. I came to Florence 3 times as a student..I am a real quattrocento fiend!

So I see from your photo L, a little late for a Piero angel, but the sulks and hair are perfect. Are you sure you're not from Sansepolcro?

ps I wish I understood better (technical Angels are away) but a commenter on Dale has just told me Craig Murray's server is at fault. As he said he was on the same server I tried him and there he was (unfortunately), but I still can't get CM.

R of NL suggested concern was only for conspiracyloons. Mmmm.

I begin to feel like a friend's mother who complained that during power cuts at least one socket per household should be left working out of courtesy.
