Buried Alive

One of the Italian civil engineers who built the Ghedaffi bunkers was on the television last night.  He wouldn't be drawn on any detail but said they are remarkable for the amounts of armour and defensive materials poured into their construction.  He thought it would be extraordinarily difficult to get the great socialist Leader out.

If he won't come out he can stay down there for good. As Mr HG remarked, what some think of as a bunker most will regard as a tomb.

With the aid of a few bulldozers his enemies can simply bury him. Archaeologists of the future will be able to compare his burial with those of ancient rulers, and comment sadly on the decline of standards.

Sounds like they were having to cope with the Building Inspectors in Tunbridge Wells Hats!

And that's for a small garden shed no less...

Or a cruise missile would do it Raven - the burying , I mean, not the destruction. The engineer was pretty clear he hadn't built a bunker that couldn't withstand a nuclear bomb.

All Tunbridge Wells sheds should be bomb-proof surely Scrobs? The last redoubts of the disgusted must be defended to the limits.

Why bother about expensive weapons? A few lorry loads of Ready-Mix over the entrances and air vents would solve the problem in due course.

Or do it the Milanese way, EP, poison the wells and fountains, block all the exits.
