Crucible of Terror

These are the people on the Afghan/Pakistan border who make these

And these

are what are used to kill them and stop them laying waste a high street near you.

Are you perhaps suggesting that the world would have been a better place if we hadn't been pumping interference, weapons and hatred into Afghanistan over the centuries?

Are you perhaps suggesting that sometimes the best defence is a good defence rather than trampling all over the place, leaving, waiting a few years and then having to go back and fix a bigger problem?

If so, I agree.

All of that Blue; and that droning the wedding parties of the nomadic groupings of the Baloch is, as they say here, beyond good and evil.

If only they were all peaceful, camel-riding, carpet-makers.

Nomad, is my concern in part at the wiping out the creators of such beautiful objects so transparent?

The technology of death is American but its use is shamefully our regime's policy too, Raven.

Ah yes; Dresden wasn't in Afghanistan.

HG: probably, yes and understandable too. Having spent several years wandering around that part of the globe, I have a motley collection of beautifully crafted bits and pieces which all bring back wonderful memories of times gone by. But the world has changed for the worse in the last 20 years and if murderous thugs driven by a blinkered seventh century set of values grab power, constantly defy civilised international expressions of concern, and threaten openly the existence of near neighbours then they must be taken very seriously and, if needs must, be dealt with by one (or more) who carry bigger sticks. Not a prospect I look forward to I must admit.
